Brimham Rocks

Situated around half an hour away from The Bridge Hotel, Brimham Rocks is a natural spectacle of unique, giant rock formations, overlooking the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Brimham Rocks and its heather moorland are both ‘Sites of Special Scientific Interest’ and are a great spot for geologists, naturalists, climbers and walkers, as well as families who love to explore!

199 Whitby Abbey Steps

The iconic 199 Whitby Abbey Steps in the seaside town of Whitby are a challenge visitors just can’t resist!

The 60m high climb up the 199 stone steps offers sweeping views of the harbour and town of Whitby. Just 90 minutes away from The Bridge, why not combine it with a day trip to the beach?

The British Library

Just 15 minutes away from the hotel, the British Library at Boston Spa is a landmark that offers a gateway to vast research collections.

With over 100km of shelving and more than three million books, it’s also home to journals of the sciences, arts and humanities, millions of monograph titles and the UK national newspaper collection.

National Railway Museum

Explore the past, present and future of the railways and locomotives at the National Railway Museum, just 27 minutes away from the hotel.

Wander through the halls and explore the stories, places and engineering marvels behind the railways, including world-changing inventions like Rocket and the Japanese Bullet train.

Roundhay Park

Roundhay Park is one of the largest city parks in Europe, covering more than 700 acres of parkland, lakes, woodland and garden, and located just 30 minutes away from the hotel.

The park is home to some incredible facilities, including: tennis courts; a children’s play area; a small skate park; sports pitches; bowling greens; a sports arena; a golf course; and fishing.

At Roundhay Park, you will also find Tropical World, home to exciting, exotic animals including Meerkats, reptiles and a Butterfly House. Tropical World also has a cafe, completing the set-up to make a perfect day out.

Valley Gardens

Located 24 minutes from the hotel, in regal Low Harrogate, the Valley Gardens are English Heritage Grade II listed gardens that have won Britain in Bloom six times.

The gardens and the surrounding woodland cover over 17 acres and contain a greater number of mineral springs than any other known place. Open all year round and with a number of different areas to explore, Valley Gardens make for a beautiful day out.

Police Box

Well-known in the local area, check out this traditional police box located at the entrance to the police station, just eight minutes from the hotel.

Wetherby Bridge

Just nine minutes from the hotel, Wetherby Bridge is a scheduled monument and Grade II-listed bridge – an iconic landmark to look out for on your journey around the village.

Going over the River Wharfe, connecting Wetherby town centre with Micklethwaite, the Wetherby bridge is part of the popular A1 road and carries a special interest as a historical construction.

Wetherby Bandstand

Ideally located just nine minutes from the hotel, the bandstand is by the river at the Wilderness car park in Wetherby. On warm summer days, it makes the perfect place for a picnic.
